FACULTY OF GRAPHIC ARTS AND PACKAGING
Its creation plans are moving on
ELSET couldn’t be absent from the common effort from the bodies of West Attica University, Graphic Arts and Printing and Packaging sectors for the creation of the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Packaging.
Alongside HELGRAMED, SEMME, SYVIPYS, FESPA Hellas Association, ELLA-DIKA MAS, ELLINIKI PARAGOGI and EENE, ELSET participated at the event that took place at the installments of Forlabels, in which the deputy minister of Education Mr. Aggelos Syrigos and the president of the National Authority of Higher Education, Mr. Periklis Mitkas also participated.
Deputy Deans of West Attica University, Ms. Efthimia Papageorgiou and Ms. Gramati Pantziou were also present at the event.
The central figure of the presentation was the professor at West Attica University, Mr. Tasos Politis, President of the International Circle of Universities of Graphic Arts, who informed the guests and the other attendees about the need to create the department, stressing among other things that out of a total of approximately 9,000 businesses of related industries, 170 medium and large-sized, high-quality companies with extroversion and international collaborations cannot find properly trained personnel. He made special reference to the way the large printing companies operate, many of which work on a 24-hour basis, so their needs for fully trained workers and especially for specialized scientific personnel triple. In another part of his speech, Mr. Politis emphasized that many companies manufacturing and producing products (food, beverages, drugs, cosmetics, etc.) have the same departments for designing and specifying packaging production specifications and maintain a significant number of jobs, which not all are covered, since the appropriate staff is not available.
The speech of Ms. Machi Kakava, entrepreneur and CEO of ABC design, was on the same railroad.
Mr. Syrigos and Mr. Mitkas claimed that they were impressed from what they saw and heared, but also because the realized that Packaging sector is the “passport” of the Greek production to the abroad. They said that they will do their best in order to accomplish this goal.
