Members and friends of ELSET participated in the New Year’s Pie event on Saturday 17-03-2017, at the hotel “Life Gallery”, at Ekali.
The president of ELSET, Mr. Angerinos Chatzichrysos, made a quick reference on the activities that ELSET made last year, he reminded the participants of the events and the issues presented and also he pointed out that a lot of agencies had approached ELSET demanding its collaboration or auspices for events about label industry issues.
Next, he referred to the next steps for the recycling of Release liner and the practice of the sector’s new employees.
Concerning Release liner, General Secretary of ELSET Theodoros Kalkavouras read a letter of Mr. D. Tsolakos, representative of a company that asks ELSET to collaborate with it, in order to collect and transfer Release liner at the abroad for recycling, so that environment pollution will be avoided. Bureaucracy is a huge obstacle and we have to confront with it, but all the collaborators agreed to participate in an attempt to find a solution for it and they strongly believe that there will be some process on that issue.
Concerning professional practicing, representative of AKTO College Mr. Al. Despotopoulos informed the participants for programs Erasmus+ and LAEK (which concern businesses with 30 employees and more). Those two programs are currently running and there will be further information for them in the future.
ELSET also honored two people that retired, but had left a mark in our sector’s history.
The founder of ALPHA LABEL, Mr. Andreas Paitaridis, was honored, as the honorary plaque given to him quoted “for the decades he taught us about morals, diligence and creativity”. He noted that everyone has to do his best for the process of the sector.
Mr. Makis Patronis, representative of Avery Dennison in Greece, was honored because “he was a reference point for the labelers”. He noted that the sector has to get continuously modernized and adapted to the changing circumstances.
